Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site.

In the morning after breakfast, drive to Serengeti National Park. You will drive across the savanna plains of Africa, a combination of flora and fauna of the nature’s most spectacular attractions. You will have a game drive of the park in the evening you will go for dinner and overnight at Serengeti katikati tented lodge  tortils camp

Serengeti National park is Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, also a world heritage site and recently proclaimed a 7th worldwide wonder, the Serengeti is famed for its annual migration, when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson's gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Day 1: Arrival Day

We’ll pick you up at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you to the Arusha Coffee Lodge for your first night in Tanzania.

Day 2: Head to the Park that Hemingway Loved

After breakfast, leave for Lake Manyara National Park. The great American writer and adventurer, Ernest Hemingway, once described Manyara as one of his favorites. Some 231km² out of the park’s total 329km² is covered by the watera of Lake Manyara, an alkaline water body that attracts flamingos and many migratory birds.

Giant fig and mahogany trees tower above the trails near the park’s entrance, where baboons and blue monkeys often gather. Out in the plains and near the lake, you might see buffalo, elephant, warthog, and giraffe. Although small, Lake Manyara has much to offer in terms of different habitats and wildlife. You will stay and have dinner at the nearby Lake Manyara  serena lodge  which has fabulous views of the lake and national park.

Day 3: manyara  – Serengeti

After breakfast, you’ll leave manyara with your guide and drive to the endless plains of Serengeti via Ngorongoro crater where you’ll enjoy a half day of wildlife and migration viewing. Serengeti is the oldest and most popular national park, in particular for its annual migration of wildebeest but zebra and Thomson gazelle also join the trek looking for fresh grazing. Some of the animals are found in Serengeti are buffalo, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, lion, cheetah, leopard and African Jackal. We’ll take a packed lunch with us today to maximise our game viewing time.

Days 4 and 5: Serengeti

You’ll spend two full days exploring the Serengeti creating unforgettable memories of your safari adventure. The great migration on the Serengeti is world renowned and you’ll be ideally place to watch more than two million animals, mainly wildebeest, move across the plains in search of fresh grass and water.

Day 6: Venture to Ngorongoro with Discoveries en Route

After breakfast, you will bid adieu to the Serengeti and begin the long drive to the Ngorongoro Crater. En route, you will stop for a packed lunch at Olduvai Gorge, an archaeological site made famous by Louis and Mary Leakey when they uncovered the remains of Zinjathropus, an early hominid species that roamed the planet some 2.7 million years ago. After lunch, you’ll be taken to the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge inside the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Day 7: Explore the Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll descend with into the famed Ngorongoro Crater for wildlife viewing. A large caldera, the crater formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. It is 610 m (2,000 ft) deep and its floor covers 260 km² (100miles²). Estimations of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4500 to 5800 meters). The crater has some of the highest densities of wildlife on the planet, including lion, elephant, zebra, rhino, leopard, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo and many different bird species. The Ngorongoro Crater is well deserving of its UN World Heritage Site status and this experience will be a highlight of your tour.

Day 8: Explore Tarangire National Park

Day 9: Final Day on Safari & Your Departure to Zanzibar

Enjoy one final morning of wildlife viewing and the stunning African landscapes as you make you leave Tarangire and return to Arusha town. You’ll have lunch at a tranquil hideaway in the Shanga Shangaa arts center, where handicapped artisans make extraordinary jewelry and glassware. They also serve a delicious meal! After picking up some souvenirs and gifts you’ll have an opportunity to visit the Cultural Heritage Centre, with gift shop, art gallery and tanzanite display – a stone more precious than diamonds! In the afternoon, you will be transferred to Arusha airport for your flight to Zanzibar. On arrival in Zanzibar, you will be met and transferred to the hotel for some well deserved relaxation.

After breakfast we’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park.  The national park coverage is 127 square miles (329 km²) and the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km²). Giant fig trees and mahogany trees can be seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates. They draw nourishment from the underground springs which are continuously replenished by the crater highlands directly above the Manyara basin.

While mostly known for its famous tree-climbing lions and baboons, Lake Manyara and its environment are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

Day 4,5&6  Serengeti N.P

After breakfast, depart from the hotel and drive to the endless plains of the Serengeti via Ngorongoro . You will have two full days to view the migration. Serengeti is the oldest and most popular national park, in particular for its annual migration of wildebeest with zebra and Thomson gazelle joining the trek for fresh grazing. Other wildlife found in Serengeti includes buffalo, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, lion, cheetah, leopard and African jackal.

Day 7 : Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast and with packed lunches at the ready, we’ll drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for game viewing. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the Ngorongoro Crater – a large, unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is 610m (2,000 ft) deep and its floor covers 260 km² (100 miles²). Estimations of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4500 to 5800 meters). Animal populations in the crater include most of the species found in East Africa such as lion, elephant, zebra, rhino, leopard, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo and many different bird species.

Early morning pick up from your chosen location, hotel or accommodation and drive to Mikumi National Park which is approximately 5 hours from Dar es Salaam. You’ll arrive at Vuma Hills Tented Camp in time for a hot lunch then after lunch we’ll go for a game drive.

DAY 2: MIKUMI/UDZUNGWA

We’ll get up for an early morning game view drive in Mikumi when the wildlife is active. After breakfast we’ll depart to Udzungwa National park with packed lunchboxes for our 90 minute drive. On arrival, you’ll enter and your guide will go into Udzungwa National park to hike in the Udzungwa Mountains, visit the waterfalls and swim in the cool water hole at the base of the falls. In the late afternoon, you’ll walk back to the Udzungwa Hondo Hondo Forest Camp.

The crater formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago. It’s 610 m (2,000 ft.) deep and its floor covers 260 km2 (100 square meters). Estimates of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4,500 to 5,800 meters) high. The crater is famous for the big 5 animals (Lion, Elephants, Rhino, Leopard, and Buffalo). Other animals you will see are Zebras, Gazelle, Wildebeest, Impalas, Hippos and different species of birds.

Together with a local guide, make your way to the waterfalls for some relaxation and swimming before returning to Natron Tented Camp.

DAY 6: FLY FROM ARUSHA TO KIGOMA

After breakfast you’ll be taken from the hotel to Arusha Airport for a shared charter flight to Kigoma. Upon arrival, you will be picked up and transferred to Kigoma Hilltop Hotel. This is a great opportunity to relax, lounge by the pool and enjoy the stunning views of sparkling Lake Tanganyika.

DAY 7: GOMBE NATIONAL PARKS

After breakfast you will be transferred by a traditional dhow boat on the two hours trip to Gombe National Park where you’ll go chimpanzee trecking in the forest. The chimps’ habitation areas are usually easily accessible and the walk is not too strenuous, although the fitter you are the more you’ll enjoy your jungle walk. Observing these endangered primates is a once-in-a-lifetime experience so we’ll spend as much time with the chimpanzees as possible.

DAY 8: GOMBE NATIONAL PARK

12 DAYS 11 NIGHTS LUXURY (SELOUS, MIKUMI, RUAHA & UDZUNGWA)

DAY 1: ARRIVAL DAY

On arrival at Mwalimu Nyerere International Airport, you will be met by your  Tembo Tours guide and transferred to your  hotel in Dar es Salaam. This is the perfect place to relax by the pool and recover from your journey.

Meals: Dinner & Breakfast.

DAY 2: DAR – SELOUS GAME RESERVE

In the morning, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to Selous Game Reserve, arriving at rufiji river Camp in time for a delicious hot lunch. In the late afternoon, you’ll go on a thrilling boat safari on the Rufiji River where you’ll see hippos and crocodiles in their natural habitat. Your guide will also be able to point out interesting birds and plant species during this trip.

DAY 3 & 4: SELOUS FULL DAY

Each morning after breakfast you’ll have a full day of game viewing in Selous Game Reserve taking a packed lunch with you if you wish to maximize your game drive time. Selous Game Reserve is bigger than Switzerland and Denmark so it takes a long time to explore properly but your guide will know the best places to go. These will be special days spent exploring the wilderness in the biggest game reserve in Africa and viewing the diverse wildlife which includes lion, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, wild dog and so much more.

DAY 5: WALKING SAFARI – HALF DAY GAME VIEWING
In the early morning and before breakfast we’ll go on a three hour walking safari (or as long as you’re comfortable with) in the wilderness, accompanied by your guide and an armed ranger. By going on foot you’ll have a chance to see various bird and plant species as you explore this heavenly sanctuary.  We’ll go back to camp to clean  up then after breakfast we’ll leave  rufji Camp and take a packed lunch to enjoy on our a game drive on the way to Mikumi National Park.

DAY 6: SELOUS – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, leave for Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch. Mikumi National Park is nestled between the Uluguru Mountains to the northeast, and the Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. As part of the Selous ecosystem, it benefits from the highest game density of the entire conservation area. The landscape here is beautiful and the wildlife prolific. You can expect to see animals like elephant, giraffe, zebra, eland, kudu, wildebeest, antelope, tree-climbing lion, leopard, wild dog,  jackal and an amazing array of colorful birds.

DAY 7: MIKUMI – RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, drive to Ruaha National Park. If you wish your guide will take you on an evening game drive through this remote area with a dramatic topography of mountains, rivers and plains. Its ragged beauty is only outmatched by the variety and density of wildlife and exotic birdlife. Ruaha National Park is home to the largest population of elephants in any East African natural reserve as well as many other animals and birds all attracted to the Great Ruaha River.

DAY 8 & 9:  RUAHA NATIONAL PARK

You will have two full days of game activities in Ruaha National Park. The park covers over 20,000 thousand  square kilometers, with a large area of dry savanna. The forest contains Miombo woodlands, Acacia woodlands, Riverine forests and Terminalia scrub. Ruaha and Rungwa areas are home to 450 bird species. Ruaha River Lodge is set on one of the most stunning stretches of the Great Ruaha River so you can see game throughout the day from the comfort of your veranda if you want to have a break from driving and simply enjoy your surroundings and be pampered at camp.

DAY 10: RUAHA – UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK

In the early morning after breakfast you’ll depart for Udzungwa Mountains National Parks with a packed lunch. On arrival, we will go mountain hiking on the Campsite 3 trail taking in the amazing sights of forest including waterfalls, birds, primates, butterflies, bush-buck, dikdik, baboons and monkeys.

DAY 11: UDZUNGWA – MIKUMI

After breakfast, we will drive to Mikumi National Park where you’ll enjoy a full day of game viewing in Mikumi National Park with a packed lunch.  During today’s game viewing, you’ll see the open horizons and abundant wildlife of the Mkata floodplain and we may be able to find lion, giraffe, zebra, impala, elephant, wildebeest and birds such as hornbill, lilac breasted roller, crowned crane and many more.

DAY 12 MIKUMI – DAR ES SALAAM

After breakfast we’ll drive you back to Dar es Salaam where you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. It’s been an amazing trip and you’ll have some incredible photos and stories to share with your friends and family back home.

12 DAYS / 11 NIGHTS: LAKE MANYARA N.P – SERENGETI N.P – MASAI BOMA – NGORONGORO – TARANGIRE & ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

Day 1: Arrival Day

On arrival at Kilimanjaro International airport you’ll be met by our Tours guide and transferred to Kibo Palace Hotel in Arusha town where you can relax and recover from your journey.

Day 2: Arusha – Lake Manyara

After breakfast we’ll drive to Lake Manyara National Park.  The national park coverage is 127 square miles (329 km²) and the lake’s alkaline waters cover approximately 89 square miles (231 km²). Giant fig trees and mahogany trees can be seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates. They draw nourishment from the underground springs which are continuously replenished by the crater highlands directly above the Manyara basin.

While mostly known for its famous tree-climbing lions and baboons, Lake Manyara and its environment are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

Day 3, 4 & 5 Serengeti N.P

After breakfast, depart from Manyara and drive to the endless plains of the Serengeti via Ngorongoro Crater. You will have one half day and two full days to view the migration. Serengeti is the oldest and most popular national park, in particular for its annual migration of wildebeest with zebra and Thomson gazelle joining the trek for fresh grazing. Other wildlife found in Serengeti includes buffalo, giraffe, eland, topi, kongoni, impala, Grant’s gazelle, lion, cheetah, leopard and African jackal.

Day 6: Serengeti – Olduvai Gorge- Boma

After breakfast, and with packed lunches at the ready, we will drive to Ngorongoro, stopping on the way at Olduvai Gorge, the archaeological site made famous by the Louis and Mary Leakey discoveries and the Masai Boma community where you can learn about Masai customs and traditions.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast and with packed lunches at the ready, we’ll drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater for game viewing. The main feature of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area is the Ngorongoro Crater – a large, unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, is 610m (2,000 ft) deep and its floor covers 260 km² (100 miles²). Estimations of the height of the original volcano range from fifteen to nineteen thousand feet (4500 to 5800 meters). Animal populations in the crater include most of the species found in East Africa such as lion, elephant, zebra, rhino, leopard, buffalo, gazelle, wildebeest, hippo and many different bird species.

Day 8: Ngorongoro – Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, depart to Tarangire National Park which is famous for its tree-climbing lions, massive baobab trees and large herds of elephants. Tarangire National Park is small but still home to a significant wildlife population with a density of wildlife matched only by Ngorongoro. You’ll enjoy a packed lunch during your safari drive and have plenty of time to explore the national park, stop to observe the wildlife and take photos.

Day 9: Tarangire Full day game viewing

After breakfast, enjoy an adventure packed day of game driving in Tarangire National Park. Beside herds of elephants, you can also expect to see zebra, eland, mongoose, giraffe, bushbuck, hartebeest, dik dik, impala, warthog and reedbuck.  Many carnivores are abundant throughout the park such as lion, leopard, cheetah, hyena and jackal. At the end of a busy day we’ll retire to Tarangire River Camp to enjoy a sundowner while taking in the many colours of the setting sun over the Tarangire landscape.

Day 10: Tarangire – Arusha National Park

After breakfast we we’ll drive to Arusha National Park taking packed lunch boxes so we can enjoy the game viewing until evening. Arusha National Park offers a wide variety of wildlife including Cape buffalo, elephant, hippo, giraffe, warthog, antelope, zebra, blue monkey, vervet monkey, colobus monkey and various reptiles. The Momella lakes attract a wide range of birds, both resident and migratory.

Day 11: Arusha National Park – Arusha Town

After breakfast you’ll go on a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. You will have plenty of time to take photos of the wildlife which may include zebra, antelopes and Cape buffalo as well as birds. You’ll enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at the beautiful Mount Meru waterfall providing a spectacular end to your safari. In the evening, we’ll drive you back to Arusha Town for your final night.

Day 12: ArushaTown – Airport

After breakfast you’ll be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight back home.
